How-To: Connecting LiveU Solo encoder to Wi-Fi

When streaming using a LiveU, it can be beneficial to connect to a local Wi-Fi to increase your signal coverage

Below are the instructions for connecting the LiveU Solo encoder to Wi-Fi. If you need full instructions on how to stream, please view this page instead: How-To: Start A Stream Using A LiveU Solo

πŸ’‘ Please note that you can connect the LiveU Solo to a hotspot. However, it is always recommended to first try connecting to the Home or Business Wi-Fi.

Since hotspots are simply a cellular signal, sometimes their connection is not as solid a signal as the home or business Wi-Fi. Therefore, we always recommend that users first try connecting to home or business Wi-Fi and testing the strength of the stream before connecting the LiveU Solo to a hotspot. If you have access to an ethernet port instead, we recommend using ethernet first.

Instructions:

Follow these instructions to connect your LiveU Solo to Wi-Fi.

  1. Make sure to plug your unit into a power supply, either from the wall or d-tap.

  2. Turn on the LiveU by pressing the bottom power button.

  3. When the LiveU is powered on, press the top button to the right.

  4. Continue pressing to the right until the LiveU says Scanning.

  5. Once it finds an available network, press down on the top button to select the Wi-Fi network.

  6. Lastly, use the top button to navigate the keypad and enter the password. After completing this, the LiveU Solo encoder will be connected to the Wi-Fi.

That’s it!
