How-To: Start A Stream Using A LiveU Solo

Below are the instructions for how to start a stream using the LiveU Solo Encoder.

πŸ’‘ Please note: these instructions assume that you have already followed the proper procedures for connecting your cameras to your wireless systems, the Decimator, and the LiveU. Also, Please make sure to plug your LiveU into a power outlet as the device has a limited internal battery.

Instructions:

Follow these instructions to start:

  1. Make sure to plug your unit into a power supply, either from the wall or d-tap.

  2. Make sure the 2 USB cellular modems are plugged into the sides of the LiveU Solo via the short USB cables. These often come unplugged, so they will need to be plugged in before streaming.

  3. Then, plug in the HDMI output from the Decimator Quad.

  4. Power on the LiveU Solo by pressing the power button.

  5. When the LiveU is powered on, connect the unit to the home or business Wi-Fi by pressing the top button to the right.

  6. Continue pressing to the right until the LiveU scans for an available network.

  7. Once it finds an available network, press down on the top button to select the Wi-Fi network

  8. Use the top button to navigate the keypad and enter the password. After completing this, the LiveU Solo encoder will be connected to the Wi-Fi.

  9. Once connected, press the top button to the left and return to main window. Ensure that the LiveU Solo says β€œReady” on the bottom left and that you see an image.

  10. Press the bottom button and the LiveU will go from Ready to Connecting and then to Streaming.

It is important that the Streaming is above 2000kbps or you will have pixilation in the stream.

Stopping The Stream:

  1. To stop the stream, double-click the power button (the bottom right button) and the LiveU will return the β€œReady” position.
