📊 Learn How to Calculate Your Usage Percentage for SignME

When you sign up for SignME, your subscription comes with specific usage limits. In this article, we’ll walk you through how your usage is calculated so you can stay informed and on top of your plan.

Every SignME plan comes with a certain number of blank contract templates that can be stored, and a certain number of contracts that can be signed.

How Usage Limits Work:

Each plan has different usage limits for both templates and signed contracts. Let’s break down how you can calculate your usage based on your subscription plan.

1. Calculating Template Usage:

The first step in SignME is to create blank contract templates so that they may be signed by others. Each pricing plan allows a specific number of contract templates which can be created and stored in your account. For example, the Creator Plan allows you to create and store up to 5 contract templates.

  • If you've created 4 templates, your usage would be 80%:
    Formual 2
  • Using the same example above, let's assume that you need to create 2 more contract templates. Here are your options:
    • Option 1: If you need access to all 6 contract templates (the 4 original contract templates plus the 2 additional contract templates), then you would need to upgrade to the next tier (Pro Plan), which includes 50 contract templates.
    • Option 2: If there is a contract template that you no longer need access to, you could archive one of the contract templates, thus reducing your total number of contract templates from 6 contract templates to 5 contract templates. Being that the Creator Plan allows for 5 contract templates, you would NOT have to upgrade and could remain on the Creator plan.
  • IMPORTANT: The most important thing that you should know is that you can archive templates to stay below your plan's contract template limit.

2. Calculating Signed Contract Usage:

Once you create your contract templates, the next step is to get these contract templates signed. Each time a contract template is signed, it counts toward your usage limit for signed contracts. Signed contracts reside inside your File Manager.

For example, if you’re on the Creator Plan, which includes up to 10 signed contracts per month, here’s how to calculate your usage:

  • If you've collected signatures on 8 contracts during the month, your signed contract usage would be 80%:
    Formula 1 (article)
  • Using the same example above, let's assume that 4 more contracts were signed (resulting in a total number of signed documents of 12). Being that you exceeded your signed document limit of 10 signed contracts per month, you have 2 options:
    • Option 1: Upgrade to the Pro Plan, which offers a higher limit on the number of signed contracts you can attain per month.
    • Option 2:  If this was a random occurrence and you believe your signed contracts will be 10 or less the following month, you can opt to stay on your current plan and to pay an overage fee for the extra contracts. In this example, the overage fee for signed contracts on the Creator monthly plan is billed at a rate of $2.50 per signed contract. Because you are two signed documents over the limit, you would pay $2.50 x 2, for a total overage in the amount of $5.
  • IMPORTANT: The most important thing that you should know is that deleting signed contracts from the file manager will NOT decrease your signed document usage amount. For example, if you have 10 signed signed contracts in the file manager and then delete 2 contracts from the file manager, your usage will still be 10 signed contracts.

3. How to Manage Usage and Avoid Overages:

Staying on top of your usage is key to avoiding unexpected overages. Here’s how to manage your limits effectively:

  • Regularly check your usage percentage: You can always monitor your limits within the platform. Simply keep track of the number of templates you've created (under the SignME tab) or the number of signed releases you have (under the File Manager tab). Each section will show you how much you've used and how close you are to your limit.

  • Consider upgrading before hitting limits: If you frequently exceed your plan limits, it may be a good idea to upgrade to a higher tier to avoid paying overage fees. For example, moving from the Creator Plan to the Pro Plan will increase both your signed contract and template limits.

  • Watch for overage notifications: If you’re nearing or exceeding your limit, you’ll be notified directly within the platform with a message at the top of your screen (see below). This will help keep you informed when you're approaching your limit.
